Jaywon Apologizes To Ayra Starr Following Grammys Snub
Nigerian singer, Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, popularly known as Jaywon, has tendered his apology to his female colleague, Ayra Starr.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that the 67th Grammys announced its nominees last week Friday, and surprisingly, Ayra Starr was omitted, despite her impressive run this year.
However, Jaywon, who has not been in good terms with Ayra Starr took to his social media to share a photo of himself posing with two Grammy awards shortly after the nominations, and many surmised his action to be a direct shade at Ayra Starr.
Reacting to public backlash about his shade at Ayra Starr, Jaywon apologized for her Grammys snub. He admitted that he was her huge fan, and he believes she is one of the best female vocalists Africa has.
He stated that he does not pull people down, but instead he elevates.
Jaywon wrote:
"If you see Ayra Starr, tell her I’m sorry she wasn’t nominated for this year’s Grammys. “On this side, we don’t pull people down. We elevate, not just for today, but for the future. Ola Inu Kan."
