Veteran Nigerian singer and activist, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has revealed key things and perceptions of people about his relationship with late singer Tyna Onwudiwe.

The veteran singer revealed that he was so close to getting married to the singer. He further revealed that many people concluded that he was the father of some of the late Tyna Onwudiwe's children.

He revealed that he considered getting married to late Tyna. However, he closed the thought due to not seeing himself marrying two women. He also revealed that they later became best of friends and one thing which stood out for him about Tyna was her generosity.

He said:
“I almost married Tyna [Onwudiwe]. One day, we sat down and talked about it. I said, oh, no, I don’t see myself marrying two wives,” he recalled.

“And by the way, if we get married, we will kill ourselves. Let’s be good friends. And we became the best of all friends. Tyna was such a beautiful soul. She would give her last penny to a stranger. That was who she always was.

“People used to tease me by calling her my wife. They said your wife has cancer. I wanted somebody, a female to help me with that. Because if I was doing it on my own, people will say, of course, is she not your girlfriend? Is she not your wife?

Some of her kids, people think they’re my kids.”
