Entertainers set to protest against Rivers state commissioner for Culture & Tourism
Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers set to protest against the commissioner for culture & tourism, Mrs Tonye Briggs-Onyide if there is no withdrawal of the recent announced statement by the Rivers state ministry of culture & tourism.
The President of CONE, Mr Kanule Nwiya made the statement this morning during a press conference in Port-Harcourt.
If there is no Withdrawal of the announcement between now and three days, there shall be a protest against the removal of the commissioner for culture & tourism, Mrs Tonye Briggs-Onyide, the permanent secretary and the Director of Culture for the ministry.
Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers will also pass vote of no confidence on the commissioner for culture & tourism.
Some days back, the commissioner made an announcement saying that all entertainment and hospitality event organizers must approach the ministry & the ministry must approve the event for it to hold.
The Honourable Commissioner of Culture & Tourism, Mrs Tonye Briggs-Onyide has been suspended some months back by the Governor of Rivers State, Gov Nyesom Wike.
