I’m a controversial artiste – Judith Opara-Mazagwu
Actress-turned-musician Judith Opara Mazagwu who returned to the country last week after six years sojourn in the United States with her ex-husband has described herself as a controversial artiste.
Judith, in a chat with HVP, last week said, while she was in the United States, she discovered that the second name for showbiz is controversy, adding that “Living in America has taught me several things. If you are not controversial , you are not likely to make any headway in the industry.”
Now known as Afro Candy, Judith said before she relocated to America, she played a lot of lead roles in our local movies, which does not make her popular resulting from the fact that she was not controversial. “Yes, when I was in Nigeria, I played a lot of lead roles. But because I was not controversial, I was not popular.
Then, I was hiding my face because I used to be married. I never granted interviews to the press. I wanted to be quite then. She But getting to America exposed me to different lifestyles and I must survive.”
she narrated. Judith returned to the country with a musical album, which she titled “My love”, featuring some controversial tracks like Ïkebe Na Money”and “Who Go be My Man.” The Imo state born actress has featured in several movies alongside Nollywood stars such as Genevieve Nnaji, Dakore Egbuson, Ejike Asiegbu, Alex Usifo, Toney Umez, Jimi Iyke amongst other A-list acts.
