Celebrated actress and famous widow, Stella Damasus, made a wrong move when she arrived Abuja for the Northern premiere of Widow, a tear eliciting movie by Kingsley Ogoro, where she was the lead actress.

The 28 year old actress got the shock of her life when an airport bystander she did not immediately realize was an official of the state security service, referred to her as a prostitute, on arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Wednesday, October 25, 2006.

Stella Damasus turn to the sss official for enquiries about where to get a cart for her luggage, but he surprisingly sized her up appeared disgusted, and said “Where dem dey bring all these prostitutes come from sef ? It was not clear if he had a score to settle with the actress, or was just astonished that she thought his an airport attendant,a source who witnessed the incident said “The guy called her a prostitute. She was so mad she slapped him”A mild drama ensured, and the chaos was resolved.

But the next day, plain-cloth security operatives stormed the actress Transcorp Hilton Hotel room and whisked her away.“Every one including Kingsley Ogoro and Segun Arize was shocked. Stella was speechless. They just came and took her away, behaving like they didn't know it was the same Stella Damasus” a source lamented.
She was later released after the intervention of Ogoro,Arinze,Dele Momodu, sources claimed she was “beaten, rough-handle and made to make a statement.” It is uncertain where she was detained.

The star actress was unable to attend the Movie Premiere (WIDOW) which brought her to Abuja because, she was yet to regain her calm, but she apologized to everyone at the premiere through the organizers not making it to the venue, but she said “I will be back”
