Stella Monye Slams NB Plc Over Star Mega Jamz
Samba queen, Stella Monye, has accused the management of Nigerian Breweries Plc, the organisers of Star Mega Jamz of marginalisation of female artistes.
Speaking with us, Monye said “I feel very sad that out of about 20 Nigerian artistes and two foreign acts that will perform at the concert schedule for Lagos and Abuja on 11 and 12 December respectively, no female artiste is included. This is very sad, are they saying that there are not good enough?”
The Samba queen who will be performing at the opening ceremony of Nigerian Carnival scheduled for Eagles Square, Abuja, this weekend, said that the decision of NB Plc is unacceptable to female musicians, adding that it is not too late for the mistake to be corrected.
Apart from the Abuja show, Stella, whose last album is entitled Outburst, will commence a monthly show at the Prestige Hall and Hotels, Alausa.
She said that the duo of Bimpe and Obi are working hard to make sure that the show, scheduled for 4 December, 2009 is a reality.
The 2009 edition of Star Mega Jamz will parade the likes of Busta Rhyme, Ludacris, 9ice and P-Square, among others.
