Burna Boy Responds To Speed Darlington's Release From Prison

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Popular Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, best known as Burna Boy, has responded to his controversial colleague, Speed Darlington's release from prison.

Refreshing your memory, The Nigerian Voice recalls that Speed Darlington sparked uproar on social media when he shared a video holding a baby oil, and insinuated that Burna Boy was involved romantically with embattled American rapper, Diddy. He further suggested that Burna Boy's relationship with Diddy made him win the Grammys.

In response, Burna Boy had the singer locked up for days in prison, before the intervention of human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

Some months after Speed Darlington's release, the singer's lawyer, Deji Adeyanju announced via his Facebook page some weeks ago that "Our client Speed Darlington, a.k.a AKPI has been arrested by the Nigerian police in Owerri at his show upon return to Nigeria."

The controversial singer was however granted bail by the court, after spending several weeks in prison.

Reacting to Speed Darlington's release from prison, Burna Boy, via his Instagram page, stressed that when his critics talk, nobody cares, but everyone begins to point fingers when he decides to react. He noted that his critics are lucky that he has too much to lose now, if not, they would not be here any longer.

Burna Boy made this known via his Instagram page:
“When they talk nobody cares, but it’s a Nuclear disaster when I react.

“You all don’t know how lucky you are that I have too much to lose now, Walahi a lot of you wouldn’t be here no more. Anyway make I just go buy another thing relax.”
