Shallipopi Accuses Former Record Label Of Financial Mishandling

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Nigerian singer, Crown Uzama, better known as Shallipopi, has accused his former record label, Dapper Music of mishandling his funds as an artiste.

The Nigerian Voice reported that Shallipopi exited Dapper Music some weeks ago, after it was observed through his social media handles that he has unfollowed his former label boss.

In a new development, Shallipopi, while explaining the reason for his exit from the record label in a letter, he stated that he was officially ending his agreement with Dapper Music and Dapper Digital.

He explained that his trust was broken, his finances mishandled, and his rights as an artiste were disregarded.

Shallipopi wrote:
"I am officially ending my agreement with Dapper Music and Dapper Digital. This was not a choice I made lightly, but a step I had to take after my trust was broken, my finances mishandled, and my rights were disregarded as an artist.

“This is bigger than just me. It is about every artiste and creator who pours their soul into their work, but only to face betrayal and exploitation from people that should be looking out for them. It is about standing up for fairness, integrity, and respect that we all deserve.

“Instead of prioritizing my growth, they prioritised their own profits, putting my career and dreams at risk.”
