Ruggedman Lambasts Those Criticizing Davido Over Comments On Nigeria's Economy

By Oluwarantimi Oludase

Veteran Nigerian rapper, Michael Ugochukwu Stephens, better known as Ruggedman, has lambasted those who have been criticizing singer Davido over his comments on the country's economy.

The Nigerian Voice recalls that Davido recently stated on American podcast, ‘Big Homies House’, advised black Americans against relocating to Africa. He explained that the African economy is in a mess currently, especially Nigeria.

The singer's comment about the Nigerian economy, however, sparked public outrage, with many criticizing his decision to paint the African and Nigerian economy bad on the global stage.

Addressing Davido's critics, Ruggedman noted that Davido has stated the truth about Nigeria's economy, and it is the duty of the government to fix it to avoid future comments.

He urged those criticizing Davido to stop, as it is not contributing positively to the economic situation.

Ruggedman wrote via his X handle:
"Ok Davido has said what he said, moving forward the government should fix Nigeria so nobody will say such again. All this barking all over the place is not fixing the nation.

The hardship is too much.”
