Miss Universe Competition: Chidimma Adetshina Emerges First Runner-up
Fast-rising Nigerian model, Chidimma Adetshina, has clinched the first runner-up in the world’s Miss Universe competition.
The Nigerian Voice recalls that Chidimma was subjected to numerous criticisms over her identity by South Africans during her participation at the Miss South Africa pageantry which eventually made her pull out of the competition.
Following her pull out of the competition, she was gladly accepted by Nigerians, and has since been receiving support from many Nigerians
The world's Miss Universe competition officially began on November 11, with the preliminary round and National Costume Show taking place on November 14. The Grand finale took place on Saturday, November 16, at Mexico City's Arena Ciudad de México.
At the end of the competition, Chidimma emerged second, with Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjaer Theilvig emerging the overall winner of the 73rd edition of the global Miss Universe pageant.
Chidimma's position as the first runner-up places her as the first Nigerian to achieve such a feat.
The top five were Miss Mexico, María Fernanda Beltrán Figueroa, in third place, along with contestants from Thailand and Venezuela.
