Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele, has taken to social media to sound a note of warning to her fans against falling prey to identity scam.

The actress revealed that a person identified as Prosper is using her name and identity to get money from her fans online.

Addressing the situation, she issued further evidence for clarification; the evidence revealed the scammer using her name and picture to swindle numerous individuals into giving out money with the mind thinking it was the actress.

In one of the WhatsApp chats shared, the scammer asked another unsuspecting individual to lend him N200,000, promising to pay back the next day.

Funke Akindele advised her fans to watch out and be careful of falling prey to such scams.

She wrote:
“Pls beware!!! This is not from me!! Prosper!!! E no go prosper for you o!!! Ole!!!."
