American Singer, Chloe Bailey Laments Level Of Racism In Music Industry
Popular American singer, Chloe Bailey, has berated the level of segregation and racism in the music industry.
The singer cited an example of how many black artistes are always put into a certain genre of music, while others with white are regarded highly.
Speaking in her cover story with Nylon, she bemoaned how her music is regarded as R&B due to her skin colour, while if a White person sings, it would be categorised as another thing.
She said;
“Any music I do will easily and quickly be categorized as R&B because I’m a Black woman. If someone who didn’t have my skin tone made the same music, it would be in the pop categories. That’s just the way it’s always been in life.”
