Tiwa Savage Bemoans How Fans Always Draw Unnecessary Comparisons Between Her And Other Female Artistes
Popular Nigerian singer and Queen of Afrobeats, Tiwa Savage, has berated on how many Nigerians make it look like she is competing against other female attistes.
Tiwa Savage stated this during an interview with BET, on how once a new female artistes starts making waves, fans always make it feel like they're coming to replace her, which she is strongly against as she believes that she is not in any competition with her fellow female artistes, but the real competition is between the males.
She said;
“Fans always try to pit me against other female artists. Any new female artist that comes up, they would be like, ‘Yo, she is coming to take her throne.’
“And I would go out of my way to make friends with them [new female artists] because it is not a competition. The real competition are the male artists. I was happy that Tyla, a female artists won the maiden Best African Music Performance category at the Grammys over the male nominees.”
