Talent Manager, Ubi Franklin Set To Sue Woman To Court Over 500k Debt
After being accused of owing a debt of over N500,000 by a woman named Orebamz, Ubi Franklin has declared his intention to seek legal redress. Ore, a web designer, have alleged that Ubi contacted her through Iyanya’s Instagram account and requested that she work on a website for him, but he later refused to pay her the agreed amount.
In her statement, Ore explained that Ubi contacted her in January, using Iyanya's Twitter account, and asked her to message him on WhatsApp. She claimed that there was a misunderstanding of roles, as Ubi wanted her to add functionalities to the website, which required a developer, while she was only a designer. However, she offered suggestions on how to improve the design.
Reacting to the accusation, Ubi vowed to use Ore's case as a precedent and pursue legal action to ensure the matter is resolved. He also provided his side of the story, stating that Ore requested an advance payment of N250,000, which he paid, but he later discovered that the website was incomplete and not functional. He also claimed that Ore stopped responding to his messages and calls when he requested that she completes the project or refund his money.
"I must set a precedent on this case. I'd love to hear what her lawyer's defense will be," Ubi declared.
