Man Apprehended For Impersonating Nollywood Star, IK Ogbonna, Defrauds US Lady Of $70,000
Kelvin Enofe, a 23-year-old man, has been apprehended by the police for impersonating Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna. The actor disclosed this on his Instagram account on Tuesday, revealing that the impostor has defrauded a woman in the US of $70,000 before being caught by the authorities.
In his statement, the actor warned fraudsters to desist from using his name and image to scam people, reiterating that he would never solicit money on the internet. He also urged the public to be cautious of anyone claiming to be him on social media and report such individuals to his verified social media handle.
The actor commended Spaurell Private Investigators Ltd and the Nigerian police for their diligent work in bringing the impostor to justice. Kelvin Enofe is currently standing trial at the Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos, Nigeria.
He wrote, "One of such is the recent case of one Kelvin Enofe, a 23 years old boy who duped an American woman of over 70 thousand US dollars, but as God would have it, some private investigators came to the rescue of the lady by revealing the true identity of Kelvin Enofe.
“Consequent upon the said investigation, the Nigerian police went for Kelvin Enofe’s arrest, investigated the matter, and he is currently standing trial at the Igbosere Magistrate Court in Lagos Nigeria."
