Abass Akeju reacts as Nomcebo Zikode wins 2023 Grammy Award
Nigerian American- based music and media executive Abass Akeju has congratulated South African artist and song writer Nomcebo Zikode for
her recent achievement at the 2023 Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles, USA.
The artiste won the award for Best Global Music performance category for her contribution to 2022 hit song "Bayette", featuring other South African stars Zakes Bantwini and Wouter Kellerman.
In a statement he signed and posted on Instagram, Akeju, owner of Prime music partners, hailed the actiste for her vocal prowess and joining other African female singers making global impact.
"Congratulations @nomcebo_zikode, on the Grammy award - a legend and inspiration for African singers, and female stars particularly," Akeju wrote.
"Continue to shine your light on international stage, you are loved and wishing you more awesome feats".
In a follow-up post, he lauded the increasing influence of female singers on the global entertainment scene.
"Great to see many African artists winning big and getting the well deserved awareness. We hope this inspires others to keep their feet strong and never stop grinding," he added.
