Some Yoruba Film Producers Are Not Educated—Bukola Fagbuyi
Nollywood actress and film producer, Bukola Fagbuyi, better known as 'Bukky Apesin', disclosed in a recent interview why it took her 12 years to produce her own movie.
The actress, who recently premiered her film, 'Sekunola' in Houston, Texas with some of her colleagues in attendance, explained her quest to study more and come out with something quality caused the delay.
She pointed out that the idea of just producing movies is common with the Yoruba sector because people do not go to drama school to learn the rudiments of production.
“I know it is a trend especially in the Yoruba sector of the industry for people who have not even gone through a drama school to produce movies. I don't go with the crowd, I do things when I think I have got all it requires.
“Truly, I joined the industry in 2003 but movie making is not something one jumps into. It requires a good story line, script, cast, money and so on. Besides, I want to be identified with quality,” she told Vanguard.
