I May Never Marry—Essence
Essence is one singer with a vocal power that can make her audience stay glued to her for a long time. Her sonorous voice like a morning bird was what attracted many good music lovers to her when she was then trying to make a name for herself in the industry some years ago.
She later gained more fame after she released 'Facebook Love' with the then Kennis Music label mate, Jaywon. The song made her to rub shoulders with the A-listers in the country.
The Delta State-born singer recently spoke about marriage and why she is yet to be walked down the aisle by any man.
According to her, she has remained single because she is scared of having a failed marriage and stressed that nothing will happen if she decides not to give marriage a chance.
She said, “It bothers some people. Some think it is destiny. If you can work towards it, fine. It does not just work for everybody. If it happens, fine. If not, fine.
"Marriage is difficult. A lot of people in it are not enjoying it. Some are enjoying it. It is not just me. I would not be sent to hell if I do not get married.”
Essence was born Uwale Okoro. She received mentorship lessons from Kenny St. Best, a sibling to a Kennis Music boss, Kenny Ogungbe.
