After reports claimed Afro-beat singer, Seun Kuti urged Nigerians not to vote for presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari, his running mate, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, paid a courtesy visit to one of the Kutis.

But Femi Kuti disclosed that the visit was not to convince him to join the APC or support them, but that his discussion with the erudite lawyer was about the future of Nigeria. The musician said he is not partisan.

He explained that the visit was not planned for and said he was surprised to see Osinbajo at his home.

"@ProOsinbajo visit wasn't to ask me 2 join APC but was of respect 4 future of our country to share ideas. He understands I'm non partisan," he said.

According to Femi, he will not cast his vote for any politician, stressing that no one can change his mind on that.

When asked if Osinbajo visited him to apologise on behalf of Buhari for jailing his late father, Fela, during his reign as the Head of State in Nigeria, the singer asked, “What's there to forgive?” pointing out that, “He didn't ask for forgiveness."

However, Yeni Kuti, Femi's sister, said, "it is not in our place to forgive. He has to go and meet Fela."

Femi explained that Buhari was not the only person involved in jailing his father, but also former president Olusegun Obasanjo. He said the issue is very sensitive to the Kuti family.
