Paul Obazele Takes ‘Legends Of Nollywood’ To Aso Rock, Honours Jonathan
On Tuesday, December 23, 2014, some actors in the Nigerian movie industry under the aegis of 'Legends of Nollywood' paid a courtesy visit to President Goodluck Jonathan at the State House in Abuja.
The actors were led by former president of Association of Movie Producers (AMP), Paul Obazele, and they honoured the President with an award.
The President was made Grand Patron of Nollywood Award and while receiving the award, President Jonathan said, "Nollywood has consistently brought glory to the nation.”
This is not the first time some actors would be visiting the number one citizen of Nigeria in 2014. In February, president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ibinabo Fiberesima, led some industry stakeholders to Aso Rock, where Jonathan was made Grand Patron of AGN.
President Jonathan has shown interest in the creative industry in Nigeria. Before his election in 2011, he announced an Entertainment Trust Fund for the industry.
