P-SQUARE, DADDY SHOWKEY ARRESTED
The duo of Paul and Peter Okoye a.k.a. P-Square, with Ghetto musician, Daddy Showkey, were recently arrested by the police at Omole Roundabout, Ikeja.
Entertainment Cafe gathered that the multiple award winning twin brothers and Diana crooner were alleged to be driving a black Grand Cherokee jeep without a registration number plate at about 1.30 p.m. on Monday, when they were stopped by policemen at a check point.
A source said the incident almost degenerated into a free-for-all when the policemen accused the artistes of driving an unregistered vehicle.
A human rights activist who witnessed the incident called Kenny said “the artistes refused to 'cooperate' with the policemen who asked them to 'settle' them after acknowledging who the artistes were.
“The policemen insisted on arresting them for driving a vehicle without a plate number and using their influence to perpetrate lawlessness.”
Entertainment Cafe gathered that seeing their stars being molested, onlookers, most of who are the artistes' fans, almost turned the incident to a free-for-all as they detested the manner the artistes were being treated.
Some of them, who were students of a nearby school, were reported to resort to singing the chorus: “Oga police, wetin be dis o,” which, incidentally, is the chorus of one of the songs of P-Square.
Our source further revealed that the artistes were later taken to Ojodu Grammar School Police Station, where the case was resolved.
