Many were of the opinion that the new trend among Nigerian pastors and churches may not be that appealing to pastor Mathew Ashimolowo who is the president and the presiding pastor of Kingsway International Christian Church, popularly known as KICC.

It has of late become a trend among Nigerian Churches to establish educational institutions that will reflect the name of their church.

It started when churches like the Baptist founded Bowen, Winners' Covenant RCCG Redeemer and many others.

It had over time become an assumption that the KICC may choose not to do what other churches were doing but it was recently revealed that pastor Ashimolowo headed church is not only thinking in the same direction but is in fact in the process of employing workers for the church's tertiary institution called KICC University at Ode Omu in Osun State.
