Nigeria's most celebrated Afrobeat singer, songwriter and Grammy award-winner, Damini Ogulu professionally known as Burnaboy has done Nigeria proud as he claimed the 8th edition of the prestigious All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA for 2022 performance.

The AFRIMA awards night was held at Dakar Arena in Diamniadio, Senegal with 15,000 seating capacity. The event had performances from one of the greatest Nigeria hihop singers, Psquare; Ghana’s rapper Black Sherif, to mention a few.

Interestingly, Burnaboy Surpasses other African singers like Kabza De Small, a South African, Didi B from Cote D'Ivoire among others to win Best Album of the Year award. Infact he was ahead of other top Nigerian singers like WizKid, Davido, to mention a few.

Though other Nigerian singers did outstandingly well at AFRIMA award night by claiming several other awards. Wizkid won the Best Act in West Africa award while Davido won Best Male Act in African Inspirational Music and Adekunle Gold won Best Act Group in African contemporary music and Best Act , Duo or Group in African Pop, featuring Davido.
