Ogun State Police Invade RCCG Camp, Arrest 236
It was really an unexpected event when the Police in Ogun State raided the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at Kilometre 46, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and arrested not more than 236 people in the auditorium.
According to the state police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muyiwa Adejobi who confirmed the report said the exercise was needful following so many reports of rape, stealing, kidnapping perpetrated by those who claim come for prayers.
The arrested people comprise 165 males and 71 females.
He said: “Our men carried out the raid in the early hours of today (yesterday) after a series of report that criminals have taken the RCCG Auditorium as hideout. As early as 2am, they arrested 236 persons, 165 are males while 71 are females.”
He stated that the suspects were being interrogated to know those who came with the intention of worship and those who have ulterior motives in mind.
