I Don’t Want Any Record Label to Control Me…Black Face
Singer and former member of the defunct music group, Plantashun Boyz, Black Face, has explained that he is an entrepreneur who does not like to be under anybody.
Black Face while responding to questions from leadership newspaper on why he has been silent for long while his former colleague, 2Face was doing fine in the industry, stated that things worked out for 2face because he had a record label that came for him.
He stated that it is because record labels are not able to handle him that is why he is doing his thing underground and as so far been able to release 46 songs to his credit without the help of a record label.
The singer stressed that rather than hang around a record label that will not give him free hand to operate, he will chose to do his own thing his way.
“I want you to understand that I'm the only one that did not have a record label to handle me. I didn't have Kennis Music or any label support me like Tu Face because I like to be independent. I like being my own boss. I like the freedom to create songs the way I want to create them. Like somebody will tell me, this is what I want you to create. That is not going to happen. I like to be my boss. Let me go with my music the way I want. The moment you join a record label, they start dictating which direction your music should go. No! I don't want that. So we never have all these companies promote us but then, we are still relevant, people still want to hear us,” he said.
