X-Project member falls robbery victim
SAAL, one of the Sierra Leoneans in the award-winning group X-Project was recently added to the alarmingly growing list of celebrities falling victim to armed robbers in the country. He was robbed at Adeniji Adele close to Third Mainland bridge, Lagos, last weekend after he returned from Abuja where the group had a befitting show at the MTN People Police Marathon.
In a statement by the group's manager, he said: “It is only God that saved Saal. The incident is very awful. It happened at exactly 9pm when Saal went to drop his friend at Victoria Island because he was traveling to Guinea next day. While ascending the bridge, nine armed men disguised as police officers with torch-lights on the expressway flagged him down and he reduced his speed.
Suddenly, five people armed with machetes came out from the dark. They instructed him to alight from the car and one of them with a gun asked him to bring all he had in his possession, including his phones.”
The artiste, however, gave glory to God for saving his life. In a text message sent to his friends, he said, “I was robbed on Third Mainland bridge. The armed robbers took away my money, wristwatch, necklace and other valuable items inside the car. Anyway, I thank God for my life.” Word has it that he is, however, still recuperating in the hospital due to the attack.
There have been robbery attacks on the likes of Weird MC, Etcetera, Tuface, Olu Maintain, and 9ice in recent time.
