Awilo Longomba Is Not My Nickname—Awilo Clears Air
Award winning Congolese musician, Awilo Longomba, who recently graced the opening gala night of the 2014 Season 7 Project Fame West Africa, in Lagos, has disclosed that he is in Nigeria to complete his musical project, especially his music video entitled 'Bundele Bundele.'
Awilo disclosed that he has been quiet for some time to work more on his songs and forth coming album, 'Enemisolo', which is due for release in December.
He further stated that until three years ago, he has been residing in Paris, France for 20 years, but recently moved to England to perfect his English speaking ability, as well as to pursue some contracts.
The singer, speaking on a radio show on Tuesday, also cleared the air about the insinuations that Awilo Longomba is his nickname. The artiste said, “Awilo Longomba is my real name. Awilo is like saying Williams; Longomba is my Father's name.”
Awilo's relatives in the music industry include his father, Victor Longomba, a founding member of T.P OK Jazz as well as his late elder brother, Lovy.
