It Was Unlawful For The Commission To Impose The New Number Plates On Nigerians
Following the Federal Road Safety Commission's threat to impound vehicles come October 1 might not just happen, after a Federal High Court in Lagos has declared the new number plates illegal, saying it's unconstitutional.
A law suit was filed by Emmanuel Ofoegbu, a lawyer, against FRSC after they insisted every Nigerian must get the plate number, or have their vehicles impounded as from the 1st of October, 2014.
The judge said; that it was unlawful for the commission to impose the new number plates on Nigerians, where no existing law permitted it
