The reported news that President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan would be attending Nollywood's actress' wedding, Stephanie Okereke came to many as a surprise.

Though we are yet to believe this rumour to be true but we hope it is not true.

There is fire on the mountain, and the person that ought not to be on the run should not be on the run.

One would have thought that with the high level of insecurity in the country, especially with threats from Boko Haram, Mr President would not abandon over 120 million Nigerians for just one citizen's wedding in France.

Is Stephanie now more important than the over 120 million Nigerians? What economic importance will her wedding bring to Nigeria?

Please don't get us wrong here, but we feel that tackling issues of National importance should be Mr President's priority and not attending a wedding done outside Nigeria which should have been held in Nigeria.

Better still, a representative from Mr President would still do Stephanie good.

For Stephanie, she might have chosen France just to keep some selected members of the press away from her wedding.
