BITTER TRUTHS ON MARRIAGE (Part 2)-Understanding Relationship
The root of many crashed relationships today is wrong perception of relationship and wrong foundation. For instance, marriage is more than feelings. Do not just say:
“Oh! She is a good girl but they are so poor in their family. Let me marry her so that I can help them out since I am so rich”
“I am so impressed with what I have seen in this person. Let me marry him or her, even though I may not be able to express myself or my real feelings to this person (Impression without expression will lead to depression)
“Let me marry him or her because of how I feel for him or her”
Have you ever had a situation where you knew that someone was not your husband and was not a husband material but you were still having feelings for such person, claiming to be in love with that person? Perhaps, it has been all about sex.
My dear, marriage is more than feelings. Marriage is more about a decision; a lifetime decision. It is about responsibility, understanding, compatibility, faithfulness, loyalty...commitment.
A relationship that is successful is based on true friendship. Now, such friendships must not have selfish strings attached. A lot of people today say, this is my friend just because the person gives them money. This means that when the money goes, friendship goes.
