Governor Sullivan I. Chime of Enugu State has described the death of veteran actor Sam Loco Efe as a great loss to the entertainment industry, Enugu State and Nigeria at large.

In a press release signed by the Senior Special assistant to the governor on Media matters Hon. Afam Okereke, Governor Chime expresses with shock and disbelief the sudden death of this ever creative and talented guru who according to him has contributed so much to the transformation and stability of Nollywood.

While commiserating with his colleagues, Governor Chime emphasized that Late Sam Efe's involvement and participation at the Enugu State chapter of Actor Guild of Nigeria where he has been since he relocated from Lagos many years back has been inspiring.

He said Sam Loco not only spent the earlier part of his life in the east but until his death chose Enugu State (Coal City) for a permanent residence from where he coordinated his transactions within and outside the country.

In his address, Governor Chime also reminded them that the art has lost a rare gem, a mentor, a distinguished, a versatile actor and an adviser. He urged them to be consoled and most importantly live by the legacy he left behind.

He further described the late consummate performer from Benin as a legend and great ambassador of Enugu State, declaring his interest and readiness to not only accord him a state burial but immortalize him in the coal city that generations to come may know that such great talent once lived in Enugu State.

Governor Chime also extended his condolence to his immediate family and the entire entertainment industry, asking God to grant us all the fortitude to bear this great loss.
