Many entertainers attended various inauguration ceremonies held around the country Nollywood stars travelled to various places on inauguration Sunday May 29, 2011 to join fellow citizens celebrate the various swearing-in ceremonies of elected officals.

Olu Jacobs, Rita Dominic, Emeka Ike, Tchidi Chikere, Osita Iheme and Nkiru Sylvanus joined Owelle Rochas Okorocha in Owerri, the State capital of Imo State where thousands of hopeful Imo Citizens thronged to watch the inauguration ceremony. Many are calling the new Governor the first person to be freely and fairly voted in as Governor of the state. The former Governor, Ikedi Ohakim did not attend the swearing ceremony. Owelle Rochas is known by insiders as a supporter of Nollywood. Nkiru Sylvanus is the face of Rochas Foundation.

Kate Henshaw Nuttall and Julius Agwu attended the ceremonies in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to witness Gov. Rotimi Amaechi's swearing-in ceremony. This is his second term as Governor of the State and during his first tenure, he supported the ION film festival which gave birth to the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF).

While false rumours of his death passed via one Blackberry broadcast to another, Jim Iyke made his way to Gombe State to the swearing-in ceremony of new Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dakwambo. Chinedu Ihedieze (AKI), Ini Edo and Emem Isong were in Akwa Ibom State to celebrate with Governor Godswill Akpabio as he starts his second tenure as Governor
