Huge crowd stuns artistes at Glo show in Makurdi

By Kazeem Popoola

Last Saturday, over 50,000 fun-seekers thronged IBB Square in Makurdi, as Globacom's star-studded Rock' n' Rule concert hit the city. Some of the top music stars lined up for the show were overwhelmed by the crowd, which has been rated as the largest in Season 2 of the Glo Rock n Rule concert. Africa's best rapper, MI, described the crowd as the biggest he had seen and praised Globacom for giving the people of Makurdi such a pleasant experience. He admitted that the energy of the huge crowd made artistes to double up for the sterling performances, which left the crowd in frenzy.

The ace humour merchant, Basketmouth, who anchored the event alongside Gbenga Adeyinka, also confessed to have been stunned by the large turnout of residents who came in their numbers to enjoy the concert. A graduate of Economics from the Benue State University (BSU), Tsafa Iho, popularly known as Benue State's Michael Jackson, won the Dancing competition. He revived memories of Michael Jackson as he thrilled the fans with the late pop icon's signature dance steps.

Wande Coal, Terry G and MI gave the crowd a full dose of great entertainment, as they performed to some of their hit tracks that resonated well with the people. The Mr. and Miss Rock 'n' Rule Pageant segment of the show was an all-BSU affair, as co-contestants from the neighbouring Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, did not get a chance. BSU students won the first, second and third positions in both male and female categories. Patience Yisa, a 400 level student of Chemistry was crowned Miss Rock 'n' Rule, Makurdi, while Israel Achichi, a 300 level student of Mass Communication, emerged Mr Rock n Rule
